The pattern directed me to cut up the sleeve seam, and up the side seams. Then I laid the sweatshirt out flat on my dining room table. See my holiday table cloth and place mats?? I had already cut the fat quarters to the specified sizes. These were pinned onto the sleeve first as directed by the pattern. Then they were sown onto to sleeve with squiggly lines across the sleeve, then up and down on the sleeve.
